Reading Curriculum

All units in this curriculum are differentiated and teach the same content in a way that fits grade levels Kindergarten through 8th grade. This way a homeschool educator can run units and activities with children at different grade levels and skill levels simultaneously.
This differentiated, standards-based curriculum can also be helpful to teachers teaching multiple skill levels (especially English Language Development or SPED) and teachers who teach multiple grade levels. My curriculum can be purchased in a few major bundles.
Once each bundle is purchased an educator has all the resources needed to teach every reading, writing, math, or science/social studies standards for grades kindergarten through sixth grade (some literacy resources included up to 12th grade, while resources like the math units end in 6th grade).

The reading Unit includes resources for both fiction and nonfiction. The fictional unit is taught through the Genre/Novel Studies and the nonfiction concepts are taught through the Science and Social Studies Thematic Units. The major resources included in the reading bundle are:

2. Reading Reflections and Spelling Bundle:
The Reading Reflections and Spelling Bundle includes resources that can be used for any book or poem throughout the school year. Many of the resources come with differentiated worksheets and activities. This bundle is great for literacy centers, independent reading time, or homework activities. The resources included are:

What does “Standard-based” mean in teaching?
Standards are different from state to state in the US (however most states use the same set of standards, known as common core standards). Standards are given as a basis for teachers, administrators, and parents to know what a child is expected to learn each at each grade level. Standards-based assessment and instruction simply means that the content is set up to teach a specific skill that they need to learn based on state standards.
What are anchor standards?
Anchor standards are standards that are broad enough to be focused on in every grade level (with specific changes made for focuses in each grade). The anchor standard is the overall goal for what we want a child to learn in order to be able to be successful in their chosen field. There are 10 writing anchor standards and 10 reading anchor standards. These standards are stated explicitly in the Reading Comprehension Worksheets for Every Grade resource.
