Welcome!
Welcome! I'm Emily and here's a couple things about me:
I grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I enjoy running, rock climbing, camping, hiking and exploring. My husband and I love traveling and are always on the lookout for cheap airline tickets. We also enjoy house projects and are always in the middle of about three at any given time. I also love to read books and play the guitar...and occasionally blog about education!
In high school I spent my summers working in summer recreational programs at a local community center. I taught arts and crafts and led many group games as well. In college I volunteered in 1st and 3rd grade classrooms as part of my education. I also worked in after-school tutoring programs and ran the after-school program through an organization called 4-H. I student taught in a 6th grade classroom as well. I spent 6 months teaching English in an elementary school outside of Madrid, Spain and am currently teaching 3rd grade in Phoenix, Arizona.
I earned my bachelors in Elementary Education at BYU in Provo, Utah and did my student teaching in 6th grade. In 2017 my husband and I moved to Phoenix where for the past two years I have been teaching 3rd grade ELD (English Language Development) in the public schools.
